Technology lover

  1. Time (saving or wasting) seems to be a big debate these days, and I can't but help agree with Muhacir about the fact that life is no longer as simple as it used to be, and the expectations of what I am supposed to do means that I am spending much more time on tasks than I used to in the past. Twenty years ago we would give our work to the departmental secretary to type and photocopy. She would also keep my calendar, deal with my mail, remind me about my wife's birthday, schedule meetings, etc. Now, I have to do all that myself, albeit with the help of my smart phone and MR GOOGLE. So, I would say that overall I am now expected to do a lot more with a lot less time. Unfortunately, the genie is out of the bottle, and I don't think it is possible to turn the clock back. What do you think? Have we lost elements of quality of life in the rush to embrace technology?
